- See (and search) a full history of chat from the Genesis in-world group.
- Read and reply directly from Discord to the Second Life Genesis group.
- Take part in Genesis-Ideas, an exclusive Discord only channel for how to best implement accepted ideas and plan strategies.
- See SL grid status updates live in a dedicated channel.
- Take part in sharing tips 'n' tricks and off-topic chats with other Genesis members.
- Be in pole position to be a future Genesis Concierge Support member if you would enjoy sharing your viewer knowledge with others, help this project grow, or if you like the idea of paying forward to nourish the next generation of Genesis user fans.
Pitfalls..
To be a member of the discord channel you must..
.. be known to us or to have been seen to be using the in-world group.
.. be SL verifed, ie your profile must display either 'pay info on file' or 'pay info used '.
.. be 'reasonably' experienced with Genesis viewer or be a quick learner, the discord channels does not offer an induction course.
.. be kind and level headed, Discord drama on top of SL drama is horrid for everyone.
.. not be a raving lunatic or constant annoyance.
.. be able to handle your liquor and not become belligerent when you've had ten too many.
.. did you actually read this, we hope so because the password when we ask you is rosebud and if you didn't read this you won't know it.
..not use this as a hotline to the Developers. No queue jumping! The in-world group is still the place for all help and feature requests. Everything must appear in the in-world group chat first, so the community is always kept up to date with what is going on. Interrupting the Developers when they are actually working on the viewer, slows things down for everyone.
If you would like to join the Discord Server for GENESIS VIEWER, send an IM to TORRIC RODAS in-world to be added. Please note that invitation links are one use only and you must join within 24 hours.
Once you have joined the Discord, please..
Go to the #gen-inworld-grp and type /v into the chat window without hitting return. You will see /verify shown as an option. Click it.
A pop-up will then ask you for your legacy name as it appears in Second Life.
Enter your login name (not your display name) and press enter.
Syncbot in Second Life will send you an IM to your account to make sure it is really you (to avoid spoofing).
Click the link he offers and your SL name and Discord name will then match when you send messages from the Genesis discord into the Second Life Genesis group.
